meet these local businesses who were kind enough to become “official missing monster shelters
(If you live in Richmond, you could choose to pick up your monster at one of these locations)
Vapor Salon was the very first monster shelter, and the lovely ladies that worked there were the first supporters of missing monsters! Vapor was a little salon around the corner from my apartment. I would walk my dog Frank there almost every day to say “Hi!” One day I brought a plush monster I was working on (not stuffed yet) and told them the concept for missing monsters. That was in October of 2006, and their excitement, encouragement, and word of mouth got my tiny idea off the ground. Vapor salon is no longer open, but I owe a tremendous amount of thanks and gratitude to the ladies who were behind monsters from the beginning. Thank you Rhoda, Krystal and Vildan! xoxo
